In my opinion, this is not the problem of individual families - this is the problem of the common upbringing system. I saw it's consecuences in many many people around me. A child is not perceived like a separate person, but more like an object, like parents' property  and their continuation. When she is convenient, she is loved; when she argues or does not meet the expectations, she is rejected. Their opinion becomes her opinion; their feelings become her feelings. She adapts but the price of this adaptation is self-abandonment, loneliness and emotional void.
